Flash fiction (also known as short shorts) is the short version of the short story. Do you want to read literature more often, but only have about 60 seconds a day to devote to it? Well then, short shorts are probably the form for you.
Following is an excerpt from a short short entitled “Pas de Deux” written by Claire Rudy Foster:
“I only get to say her name once before she steps into me, up onto her tiptoes and bites my lip, soft then hard so I can feel her incisors making impressions of themselves.”
Published in the online literary journal Toasted Cheese, you can read the story here.
