Rock Out to Yeats

Question:  What do The Cranberries, Van Morrison, and W.B. Yeats all have in common?

Answer:  Now & In Time To Be, a CD featuring rock songs using the poetry of  Yeats as lyrics.

Probably one of the most interesting contributors to the album is Shane McGowan, formerly of the punk group, The Pogues, who performs An Irish American Foresees His Death on the CD.  You can read more about the hard-living, hard-drinking McGowan at Answers.com where he is quoted as saying:

“The British press have been giving me six months to live for the past twenty years – they must be getting pissed off interviewing me by now.”

If you’re interested in reading some of Yeats’ poems on their own, Poets’ Corner has a nice selection.  If you want to buy this CD, try the vendors at amazon or see this list of vendors at google products.
